Well, warping to any bonfire opens up the ability to just kindle one bonfire to max [ofc giving 20 estus] and never have to worry about it. You can wrap to that kindled bonfire, get your estus and warp back. It is still possible but yeah, restricted... "GAME BALANCE"

7:42 I came straight from DS1 to Bloodborne and when I faced the Cleric Beast, it felt like Manus all over again (probably because I was low level). I was so used to the slow movement and directional rolling, then suddenly back-stepping in a split second and fast enemies with few breaks in attack was normal. At that point I thought every game was just gonna pick up where the last one left off, getting harder and harder and forcing players to "git gud" indefinitely. It really set me up for some disappointment with DS2.

That guitar song at the end of the video jumpscared me right when I was about to fall asleep. Damn.

I struggled with Four Kings for so long back when the game came out until I found out about the Havel armor poise cheese. Definitely made the fight stupid easy.

I haven't finished watching the video but there's an error in your criticism of Tomb of the Giants - you can get the Skull Lantern much earlier by killing the necromancer (guy that shoots fireballs) in the Catacombs. Granted, your other points are still valid - but it is designed somewhat intuitively.

The crazy amount of backtracking is why Dark Souls 2 is a better game. Also powerstancing.

The skull lantern is easy to get. One automatically drops into your inventory after you kill all the necromancer dudes (who are holding skull lanterns of their own). So, if you just clear the catacombs thoroughly you're guaranteed to have one. Not sure how you missed this and didn't think to check online before making incorrect statements in your video. Other than that, I do agree the second half of the game is rushed and could be better.

You actually can plunge attack Manus. But this method could be considered cheating. If you summon for a Manus fight, phantom (but not the host) can jump down on Manus head.
